Modeling Laboratory’s Undergraduate Researcher Secures Prestigious TÜBİTAK Grant

The Modeling Laboratory is proud to announce that our undergraduate team member, Ayserin Pelin Yılmaz, has received a prestigious grant from The Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey (TÜBİTAK). This grant is part of the 2209-B Industry-Oriented Research Projects Support Program for University Students. Ayserin is working on her senior thesis, “Investigation of Changes in Heavy Oil Behavior through Magneto-Rheology with Genetic Algorithm and Adaptive Network Based Fuzzy Inference System,” under the guidance of Associate Professor Dr. Ugur Ozveren.

This project aims to innovate in the field of energy efficiency, focusing on the processing and management of heavy oil—a critical resource in the energy sector. Ayserin’s approach uses cutting-edge magneto-rheological technology combined with advanced computational models like genetic algorithms and fuzzy logic systems. The support from TÜBİTAK not only underscores the relevance and potential impact of her research but also highlights the effective collaboration between academia and industry facilitated by our lab. We extend our gratitude to our industry partner, Tüpraş, for their support and to Dr. Ozveren for his dedicated mentorship, which has been instrumental in making this opportunity possible for Ayserin. This grant marks a significant milestone in her academic career and reflects the high standards of research conducted at the Modeling Laboratory.
